    Monday January 16th

    Lewiston

Make it a day on! Not a day off. Monday, January 16, 2012 is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and Idaho Human Rights Day. In honor of Dr. King, Jr. and his dedication to serving others, Lewis-Clark State College is hosting a special luncheon and cultural presentation followed by a day of service.

During the luncheon, a free lunch will be served while various campus and community groups and speakers provide educational programming.

After the program, attendees will be invited to participate in a day of service. Dr. King, Jr. once said, “Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?’” MLK Day of Service is a national effort aimed at answering this question. As part of LCSC’s day of service event, volunteers will be randomly assigned to a team and challenged to complete a community service project. Attendees of the luncheon are encouraged to also participate in the day of service, but it’s not required.

Doors at the LCSC Williams Conference Center open at 11:45 a.m. The lunch and educational programming is from noon-1 p.m. The day of service is from 1-3:30 p.m. For more information, contact Lindsey Davies, lldavies@lcsc.edu, 208-792-2740 or Chris Riggs, CKRiggs@lcsc.edu, 208-792-2264.
